Q: How long have you been an advisor in this area?
A: I am a consultant in my second year at Investors Group Financial Services Inc. and a client for over 11 years.

Q: Do you have experience advising clients who have arranged planned gifts? For how many years?
A: Yes, I have advised clients during estate planning discussions right from the beginning of my career because leaving a legacy is important to so many people.

Q: Have you made arrangements for a personal planned gift?
A: My personal will provides direction on planned gifts to several individuals and educational institutions.

Q: What is your personal philosophy of philanthropy, and gift planning, specifically?
A: My professional (financial planning, investments, and insurance) and educational background (degree in Psychology and Gerontology) support the need for professional guidance when considering planning giving. There are many details and options that need to be considered before decisions can be made. Philanthropy is an important issue for the people I see on a professional, daily basis because generosity has always been a way of life for them.

Q: How are you involved in your community?
A: I am a director of the Kingston Economic Development Corporation (KEDCO). I am a Rotarian who is very active in both community and international work. I have several volunteer commitments in the community mostly dealing with charity and fundraising. I am involved with microcredit, education, water and health projects.

Q: Are you a member of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners locally and/or nationally? If so, for how long?
A: I am not a member of the CAGP however, I am a member of the Canadian Association on Gerontology, Ontario Gerontology Association, and Advocis (The Financial Advisors Association of Canada).
