Ivey building is on target

Construction is well underway for the new Ivey building on Western Road. The $100-million project is expected to be complete by March 2011.

Construction of the new $100-million Ivey building is well underway, as is donor support for the project.

As of May 1, about 90 per cent of the funding for the building had been confirmed, with nearly $15 million coming from private donations. Another $13 million is needed in private support to finish the 230,000-sq.-ft. structure, which will house fifteen 80-seat classrooms, one 640-seat amphitheatre and 120 five-seat breakout rooms.

Dean Carol Stephenson says construction is on schedule for completion by March 2011. She also notes the project is on budget with the $50 million confirmed from the Canadian and Ontario governments, $22.5 million from Western, and the leadership commitments from donors.

“These are truly exciting times for the School and I’m deeply thankful for the Ivey alumni and friends who have stepped up for our new home, supporting our growth and strategy and in turn future generations of alumni,” adds Stephenson.
